Latin American Dengue Registry
Dengue is a viral disease transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which represents a growing public health problem in Latin America due to factors such as climate change, urbanization and lack of access to effective vector control measures. Although most cases present mild symptoms, a percentage of patients develop severe dengue , with a risk of shock, hemorrhages and organ failure.
This multicenter study aims to describe the demographic characteristics and risk factors associated with the development of severe dengue in the region. By collecting and analyzing clinical and epidemiological data in various Latin American hospitals, we seek to identify predictive patterns that allow for improved early detection and risk stratification , contributing to the development of more effective prevention and management strategies.
The information obtained will be key to optimizing the health response to epidemic outbreaks and reducing mortality from this disease.
