Low-grade gliomas in Argentina

Low-grade gliomas (LGGs) are primary tumors of the central nervous system with unpredictable biological behavior , which makes their diagnosis and treatment difficult.

This study aims to describe the incidence of these tumors in Argentina, evaluate patient survival and analyze the therapeutic strategies implemented in different reference centers in the country.

Using a retrospective cohort design, data from two complementary populations will be analyzed. The first cohort will include patients affiliated with the Health Plan of the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires, allowing an accurate estimate of the incidence of the disease in a well-defined population. The second cohort, of a multicenter nature, will include patients treated in national reference hospitals, allowing a broader analysis of the clinical evolution and the treatments applied.

The findings of this study could contribute to generating essential local data for health planning, improving access to advanced therapies and optimizing the clinical management of patients with low-grade gliomas in Argentina.
